Description

Early Cased 19th Century English Octant, signed "WILKINSON & SONS LONDON" Large 15" Frame. This is a high quality instrument, frame is beautiful Ebony wood, with attractive surfaces. The scales are beautifully preserved, pristine bright surfaces, with strong markings including an anchor. Brass has a nice mustard patina. All parts are present including mirrors and sun shades. Back plate has owners name"R.H. BAKER". The original stepdown box is painted grey, with cool period repairs and is constructed with early rose head nails. One piece of corner board is gone
