Description

Quintant, Diamond and Diamond pattern in brass and wood.
Handle with whole for stand or tripod.
Three lenses, one with a build-inn bubble horizon which can be seen though the lens instead of the horizon.

Provenance: The Elli Buk collection sold by Grogan & Company 25/4/2013 Dedham, Massachusetts, USA
Notes: No box, 2 extra brass telescopes, 4 shades & 3 horizon shades
Probably used at sea rather than for surveying
Feathers P.A. lived, 1842 – 1874 in Dundee,
succeeded by P.A. Feathers & Son, ( I presume around 1870)
