Description

4 shades & 3 horizon shades from later date. Magnifying lens from later date.
The inverted silver vernier scale and the simple magnifying glass is rare.
And the fact that it is called ‘ Improved Sextant’ does seems to be from before 1810

Spencer & Browning, William and Samuel, started together at 1778 till 1784.

Spencer & Spencer Browning & Rust  ( SMR) worked together from 1784 at different addresses on the Wapping High Street in Browning,

The company continued after the dead of Ebenezer Rust in 1840 as Spencer, Browning and Co.

The company ceased trading at 1884
