Uit een editie van de "Nieuwe Reystogt Rondom de Weereldt" van William Dampier It is a surprising and very detailed nautical chart, which represents the ordinary course, by prevailing winds cruising along the coast in the Atlantic Ocean and in the Indies, published in 1753 by the famous French cartographer, J.N. Bellin

Additional information

DAMPIER, William (1652-1715).  Dampier, often called the "precursor to Banks and Darwin in his keen observations" and an "indefatigable navigator," was the first English navigator to record and collect natural history, and survived shipwreck, desertion and imprisonment.
